We are highly excited by the people we've been able to cast. If it's true that the strength of a show is determined by the people who were not cast - then we have a seriously awesome cast and the building blocks for one truly memorable show.
First few rehearsals have gone very well.

Well, we've sat through two days of some intense and incredible auditions. And man was casting this baby hard. But for all the right reasons and none of the usual ones. I think we've got the mix just right. We won't release the cast list just yet - still waiting to hear from a couple of people - but needless to say there are some very talented people on board. And a lot of new faces to the Christchurch scene.
So - congratulations to everyone who has been cast.
In other pretty amazing news - we've had our first tentative show booking. Hooray 7th form English classes (don't ask me what year that is - Year 13?). That's impressive given we haven't had a rehearsal yet.
Read-through on Thursday.
Awesome.

We've got our first day of auditions today. Nearly all of the spots are filled up - which is fantastic. There's a great mix of people who have been around for a long time, as well as a lot of people who are new to Dramasoc. Brilliant.
The level of enthusiasm people have when we explain our - for lack of a better word - 'vision' is remarkable and infectious.
We are off to a good start, I think.
Anyway - stay tuned for more updates. We should have the show cast in the next couple of weeks.
Epic and exciting.

Hey peeps!
The production team is coming together and we're making progress.
Our Producer, Chontelle, is hard at it getting quotes for all sorts and applying for grants. I've managed to get a very talented Marketing manager and he and I coming up with some awesome ideas for the show. I have meetings in the next couple of weeks with the set designer and the costume designers and lemme tell you now: this show is going to look fantastic. All the while Karen (Assistant Everything) and, of course, Dave are helping out in so many facets of production - particularly making sure I'm keeping up with everything.
So, those key dates again:
AUDITIONS: May 3-4
CALLBACKS: May 10
DRAMASOC/MUSOC BUS TRIP: March 15
Hope to see you there!
I hope to post some pics soon of the team and some designs etc, give you keen beans a behind the scenes look into the show.
Look after yourselves, okay?
